Alumni day 2023 was a succes!

Alumni Dag 3

Last Saturday, January 21, the fifth edition of the RECG Alumni Day took place!

This edition we were invited by Bot Bouw and VORM Holding to take a look at their joint project Oostenburg in Amsterdam. Within this project, Bot Bouw and VORM Holding are jointly responsible for the realization of 181 apartments, catering and commercial spaces, which are divided over subplan 14/15 and 16 of lot 3 Oostenburg in Amsterdam.

Oostenburg has an eventful history, from the end of the 17th century shipyards and warehouses for precious spices from the East Indies were located here. When the industrial revolution started, Oostenburg became the scene of machine factories such as the immense Werkspoorhal. Nowadays Oostenburg is a good example of circular construction. For example, new trees are planted to keep the ecosystem intact at the felling site and energy, heat and cooling are obtained locally from natural sources.

After the presentations of Bot Bouw and VORM Holding at the Inntel Hotel Amsterdam Landmark, the tour through Oostenburg took place. During this tour, the various projects of Bot Bouw and VORM Holding were shown up close. After the tour it was time for drinks at a nearby catering facility. Here there was the opportunity to catch up with former fellow students of the Master’s while enjoying a drink. As a culinary conclusion to the Alumni Day, there was also a joint dinner at the same catering facility, which was thoroughly enjoyed!

The eighth board of the RECG looks back with great pleasure on this successful day, and would like to thank you, the alumni, for your enthusiasm and presence!

We would also like to thank Bot Bouw and VORM Holding again for their contribution to this great day! For more information about the project, please visit the following website: Wonen op Oostenburg
